BUT WHAT ABOUT SOCIAL LIFE? While there are developed resort areas complete with tennis courts, swimming pools and cable television, they are the exception. There are numerous small villages both on the cayes and on the mainland. These are fascinating places to visit. The natives are warm and friendly and the cuisine is interesting and diverse. There are usually restaurants and a few small shops, a jeweler, a wood carver and always the colorful dockside bar.

WILL WE MEET OTHER CRUISERS? You might, but you will never visit a crowded anchorage or see a dozen other sails in a day. A typical night might include a beach bar-b-q, dancing to a local band or, how about a round of coconut bowling ?
